Abstract

; The Farmers Exchange Rate (NTP) of West Sulawesi in February 2009 was 103.85, up 0.92 percent compared to the January 2009 NTP which only reached 102.90. In addition, FTT according to the subsector was recorded 96.15 for the Food Crop Subsector (NTP-P); 91.33 for the Horticultural Subsector (NTP-H); 119.77 for the People's Plantation Plant Subsector (NTP-R); 106.78 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-T) and 104.26 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTN). ; The results of monitoring of rural consumer prices show the occurrence of rural inflation in West Sulawesi in February 2009 of 0.48 percent, which is generally due to an increase in the price index in five of the seven groups of expenditure which is quite significant namely: the foodstuffs group of 1.27 percent; processed foods 1.02 percent; Housing 0.77 percent; clothing 0.22 percent; and health 0.08 percent. The other two groups experienced a decline in rural areas, namely: the education, recreation and sports 0.06 percent; and transportation and communication 4.28 percent. ; Compared to other provinces, West Sulawesi is one of 28 provinces experiencing inflation in rural areas, the highest in West Kalimantan 1.83 percent and the lowest in Nangroe Aceh Darussalam by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, 4 other provinces experienced deflation, the highest in North Maluku was 0.92 percent and the lowest in Jambi was 0.07 percent.
