Abstract

The Farmers Exchange Rate (NTP) of West Sulawesi in March 2009 was 104.65, up 0.78 percent compared to the February 2009 NTP which only reached 103.85. In addition, NTP according to the subsector was recorded 96.48 for the Food Crop Subsector (NTP-P); 90.15 for the Horticultural Subsector (NTP-H); 124.93 for the People's Plantation Plant Subsector (NTP-R); 105.37 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-T) and 105.12 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTN). ; The results of monitoring of rural consumer prices show that rural inflation in West Sulawesi in March 2009 was 0.23 percent, which is generally due to an increase in the price index in Five of the seven expenditure groups experiencing significant inflation, namely: foodstuffs 0.14 percent; processed food 1.10 percent; clothing 0.51 percent; health 1.45 percent; and education, recreation and sports 0.24 percent. The other two groups experienced deflation in rural areas, namely: the housing group 0.28 percent; and transportation and communication 1.25 percent. ; Compared to other provinces, West Sulawesi is one of 24 provinces experiencing inflation in rural areas, the highest in North Maluku is 1.46 percent and the lowest in West Kalimantan is 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, 8 other provinces experienced deflation, the highest in Banten 0.68 percent and the lowest in Bengkulu 0.07 percent.
