Indepth Study SEEA 2024 Training, Head of BPS Sulbar Emphasizes Impactful Statistical Activities

Mamuju, 27 June 2024 - BPS-Statistic of Sulawesi Barat Province held In-Depth Study System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) training in 2024 in a hybrid manner for 3 effective days. The online class was held on 24-25 June 2024 and the offline class was held on 27 June 2024. This activity was attended by participants from all districts as well as participants from the province with a total of 17 participants.

The national instructor came from the Directorate of Production Balance of BPS RI, Pipit Ronalia, and was accompanied by a companion national instructor from the Production Balance of BPS-Statistic of Sulawesi Barat Province, Irwanti Hadnus. Head of the Regional Accounts and Statistical Analysis Team, M. La'bi, conveyed the importance of this activity to equip officers in the field to obtain information on the contribution of the green economy to GDP. "The theme of SEEA 2024 is the green economy. It is hoped that from the in-depth study of SEEA 2024, the contribution of the green economy to GDP will be obtained," explained M. La'bi.

Head of BPS-Statistic of Sulawesi Barat Province, Tina Wahyufitri, in her speech said that this training aims to increase the capacity of statistical officers in understanding and implementing SEEA. SEEA is a national accounting framework that integrates economic data with environmental data. "Statistical activities must have an impact," emphasized Tina. "SEEA can help us understand the relationship between the economy and the environment, and produce data that can be used to formulate sustainable policies," he continued.

The training went smoothly, producing the best participants from Pasangkayu Regency, Dimas, Mamuju Regency, Andine, and Polewali Mandar Regency, Nusrat. "The training progress is quite good by looking at the pretest score indicators, the average of which is still below standard and after training the posttest score is above 90," explained Irwanti.

At the closing ceremony, the Head of BPS-Statistic of Sulawesi Barat Province also appreciated the committee, National Instructor, and all participants, so that the activity could run very well. He also advised to always adhere to the schedule and pay attention to health. "Stick to your schedule and stay healthy," he concluded. (*)
