Mamuju--BPS-STatistics of Sulawesi Barat Province held a Discussion on the Publication of Fertility, Mortality, Migration Statistics, and Thematic Analysis of the 2020 Population Census Long Form Results on Monday (26/06/2023). The event which was held at the Grand Maleo Mamuju Hotel presented four external speakers, namely Nuryamin, Head of BKKBN Representative for West Sulawesi Province, Head of Government and Human Development, Darmawiyah, Head of Health Service, and Djamila, Head of DP3AP2KB.
Participants came from Mamuju Muhammadiyah University academics, related agencies, such as DP3AP2KB, Health Office, Population and Civil Registry Service, Kominfopers Service, and Bappeda, as well as participants from the team for preparing publications and dissemination of BPS West Sulawesi Province.
The event began with a committee report by M. La'bi, an intermediate statistician, then remarks by the Head of BPS-Statistics of Sulawesi Barat Province, Tina Wahyufitri. Tina emphasized that she could increase the usefulness of the Long Form SP2020 results by digging up valuable insights based on user needs and current issues. "The SP2020 Long Form is important to provide demographic parameters and other population characteristics to produce SDGs and RPJMN indicators in the population sector," continued Tina.
He also did not forget to give his appreciation to the team preparing the publication of the LF SP2020 results, especially to all the sources who provided information, interesting issues, and input regarding population indicators, which would certainly enrich the analysis in the publication.
Aan Setyawan, young statistician who is also the head of the team for preparing the publication also explained what indicators were produced from the LF SP2020 results and their use in development planning. "LF SP2020 produces micro data, tabulations of population characteristics and demographic parameters, and population projections until 2050, as well as sharper analysis with various publications," explained Aan.
One by one, the resource persons presented their material which was moderated by Sri Mulyani, a young statistician. Materials presented included the Integrated Strategy for Overcoming Stunting and Child Marriage from BKKBN, material on the Vital Role of Population Data from Bappeda, Overcoming Maternal Mortality Rate from the Health Office, and material on Tracing the Roots of the Problem of Child Marriage from DP3AP2KB.
The event was getting livelier with the many responses and enthusiasm of the participants to explore the various issues discussed. Coupled with interactive participants built with the interlude of various games with attractive prizes from the committee.
At the end of the event, M. La'bi, closed by giving appreciation to all parties who had succeeded in this activity, especially the resource persons who took their time in the midst of their busy lives to provide insight to the participants. (*)
