Mamuju, 1 April 2024 – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of West Sulawesi Province (Sulbar) recorded that the export value of West Sulawesi in February 2024 had increased by 18.03 percent compared to January 2024.
"The export value in February 2024 reached US$ 30.99 million, up 18.03 percent from US$ 26.26 million in January 2024," said Head of BPS West Sulawesi, Tina Wahyufitri, in a press release, Monday (1/4).
This increase also occurred compared to February 2023, where the value of West Sulawesi exports rose 30.19 percent.
"West Sulawesi's main export commodity in February 2024 will be animal/vegetable fats & oils with a contribution of 91.49 percent of total exports," explained Tina.
Meanwhile, South Korea is the main destination country for West Sulawesi exports with a contribution of 48.11 percent.
On the other hand, the value of West Sulawesi imports in February 2024 was recorded at US$ 0.38 million.
"This condition is different from January 2024, where no imports were recorded, and the same as February 2023, where there were also no imports," said Tina.
Cumulatively, the value of West Sulawesi imports fell 36.35 percent from US$ 0.59 million (January-February 2023) to US$ 0.38 million (January-February 2024).
