Mamuju - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of West Sulawesi Province announced good news regarding the development of foreign trade in this region. In a press release, Thursday (2/1/2025), the Head of the BPS of West Sulawesi Province, Tina Wahyufitri, said that the value of West Sulawesi's exports in November 2024 experienced a significant increase compared to the previous month.
"Our export value reached US$ 49.95 million, up 26.51 percent compared to October," said Tina.
This increase in exports was driven by increased demand for West Sulawesi's main commodities, namely animal/vegetable fats and oils. This commodity contributed 92.13 percent of total exports.
"China remains our main trading partner, absorbing almost all of our exports," added Tina.
In contrast to exports, the value of West Sulawesi's imports actually decreased.
"During November 2024, our import value was US$ 0.78 million, down 1.52 percent compared to the previous month," explained Tina.
