Abstract

The Farmers Exchange Rate (NTP) of Sulawesi Barat  in February 2012 was 103.52, down 0.03 percent compared to the January 2012 NTP which was 103.55. In addition, FTT according to the subsector was recorded for the Food Crop sub-sector (FTT-P) 88.39; Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H) 84.66; People's Plantation Plant Subsector (NTP-R) 129.15; Animal Husbandry Subsector (NTP-T) 111,52; and Fisheries Subsector (NTN) 104.89.

The results of monitoring of rural consumer prices show rural inflation in Sulawesi Barat  in February 2012 of 0.57 percent, which is generally due to an increase in the price index in five expenditure groups namely the food expenditure group 0.99 percent, the education, recreation and sports group 0.61 percent, the processed food group 0.42 percent, the health group 0.42 percent, and the clothing group 0.19 percent. While the other two expenditure groups experienced deflation, where the housing group was -0.48 percent and the transportation and communication group was -0.02 percent.

Inflation in rural areas occurred in 30 provinces, the highest in Bali 0.81 percent and the lowest in South Sumatra 0.02 percent. Rural price inflation in Sulawesi Barat  ranks 10th out of 30 provinces. While the other two provinces experienced deflation namely Lampung -0.12 percent and Riau -0.03 percent.

For the national scale, the February 2012 NTP was 105.10 and experienced rural inflation of 0.46 percent.
