Abstract

Farmer (NTP) Sulawesi Barat in March 2012 amounted to 104.11 NTP rose 0.57 percent compared to February 2012 amounted to 103.52. In addition, the NTP according subsector subsector recorded for Food Crops (NTP-P) 89.64; Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H) 85.08; Smallholder Crop Subsector (NTP-R) 129.84; Livestock Subsector (NTP-T) 111.72; and Fisheries Subsector (NTN) 104.53.

The monitoring results indicate the occurrence of rural consumer price inflation in the rural areas of Sulawesi Barat in March 2012 by 0.19 per cent, which is generally due to the increase in the price index for all types of expenses, housing expenditure group 0.51 percent, 0.49 percent processed foods, clothing 0.27 percent, health 0.04 percent, foodstuffs 0.03 percent, education, recreation and sport 0.01 percent, and transportation and communication 0.01 percent.

Inflation in rural areas occurred in 25 provinces, the highest in the Moluccas 0.88 percent and the lowest in North Maluku 0.05 percent. Inflation rates in the rural areas of Sulawesi Barat ranks 13th out of 25 provinces. While seven other provinces deflation, the highest in West Nusa Tenggara 0.35 percent and the lowest at 0.02 percent in West Java.

On a national scale, the NTP in March 2012 amounted to 104.68 and rural areas experienced inflation of 0.15 percent.
