Abstract

CONSUMER PRICE INDEX DEVELOPMENT / OCTOBER 2010 INFLATION MAMUJU 0.86 PERCENT  Based on the Consumer Price Survey of 66 cities in Indonesia in October 2010, there were 32 cities experiencing inflation and 34 other cities experiencing deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Batam 1.02 percent with CPI 119.53 and the lowest in Ternate 0.01 percent with CPI 124.12, while the highest deflation occurred in Palu 1.84 percent with CPI 125.86 and the lowest in Sibolga 0.01 percent with CPI 125.15. Meanwhile, with inflation of 0.86 percent and CPI 126.14 Mamuju ranked 3rd among cities experiencing inflation.  The Mamuju City inflation rate in 2010 (December 2009 - October 2010) was 3.93 percent, while the year on year inflation rate (October 2009 - October 2010) was 4.88 percent.  Meanwhile, Indonesia in October 2010 experienced inflation of 0.06 percent, with CPI 123.29. Indonesia's inflation rate in 2010 (December 2009 - October 2010) was 5.35 percent, while the year on year inflation rate (October 2009 - October 2010) was 5.67 percent.  Inflation in Mamuju in October 2010 was generally caused by an increase in the consumer price index in the following five categories of goods and services: foodstuffs group 2.97 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.59 percent; clothing group 0.68 percent; health group 0.69 percent; and education, recreation and sports 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group and the transportation, communication and financial services group respectively fell 0.04 percent and 0.96 percent.  Significant increase in the foodstuffs group by the share of inflation in the fresh fish sub-group, the spices sub-group and the grains, tubers sub-group and their results respectively by 0.75 percent, 0.10 percent and 0 , 09 percent. While a significant increase in the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group was caused by the large share of inflation in the housing cost sub-group by 0.11 percent.  Commodities contributing to inflation are: rice 0.09 percent, fresh fish 0.65 percent, wet shrimp 0.04 percent, katamba fresh fish 0.03 percent, fresh tuna and milkfish 0.02 percent respectively percent, water spinach 0.20 percent, young jackfruit 0.02 percent, lime / lime 0.08 percent, garlic 0.05 percent, cayenne pepper 0.04 percent, house contract 0.11 percent, house rent 0.02 percent percent, wardrobe 0.02 percent, jewelry gold 0.04 percent and 0.02 percent shampoo. Meanwhile, commodities that contributed negative value were: live chicken -0.05 percent, pedigree chicken -0.03 percent, fresh tuna fish -0.02 percent, vegetable tomatoes -0.10 percent, spinach -0.09 percent, long beans -0.04 percent, potatoes -0.02 percent, red chili -0.06 percent, fruit tomatoes -0.02 percent, cement -0.02 percent, inter-city transportation and cars respectively -0 , 05 percent, motorbikes -0.04 percent and air transportation -0.03 percent.
