Abstract

DEVELOPMENT OF CONSUMER / INFLATION PRICE INDEX SEPTEMBER 2010 MAMUJU INFLATION 0.23 PERCENT  Based on the Consumer Price Survey of 66 cities in Indonesia in September 2010, there were 57 cities experiencing inflation and 9 other cities experiencing deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tarakan 1.80 percent with CPI 139.74 and the lowest in Batam 0.03 percent with CPI 118.32, while the highest deflation occurred in Lhokseumawe 1.28 percent with CPI 121.18 and the lowest in Medan 0.20 percent with CPI 122.38. Meanwhile, inflation of 0.23 percent and CPI 125.07 Mamuju ranked 47th among cities experiencing inflation.  The Mamuju City inflation rate in 2010 (December 2009 - September 2010) was 3.05 percent, while the year on year inflation rate (September 2009 - September 2010) was 3.69 percent.  Meanwhile for the national scale, in September 2010 inflation in Indonesia occurred at 0.44 percent, with CPI 123.21. Indonesia's inflation rate in 2010 (December 2009 - September 2010) was 5.28 percent, while the year on year inflation rate (September 2009 - September 2010) was 5.80 percent.  Inflation in Mamuju in September 2010 was generally caused by an increase in the consumer price index in the following five categories of goods and services: foodstuffs 0.36 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.06 percent; clothing group 0.49 percent; education, recreation and sports 0.01 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group 0.52 percent. Meanwhile, the processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group fell 0.01 percent, while the health group did not experience changes in the price index.  Significant increase in the transportation, communication and financial services group was due to the magnitude of inflation in the transportation sub-group by 0.09 percent. While the significant increase in the foodstuffs group was due to the magnitude of inflation in the meat and its products sub-group, the grains, tubers and their products sub-group and spices sub-group by 0,15 percent, 0 .08 percent and 0.07 percent.  Commodities contributing to inflation are: purebred chicken 0.13 percent, red chillies 0.08 percent, inter-city transportation 0.06 percent, washing machines and rice 0.05 percent each, tempe 0.04 percent, chillies cereals, air transport and raw tofu each 0.03 percent, instant dry noodles 0.02 percent, as well as beef, jewelery gold, coconut, mustard greens, powdered detergent soap, young long bean leaves, cassava leaves, live chickens, fresh puffed / bloated fish, garlic and dishes 0.01 percent each. Meanwhile, commodities that contributed to inflation but were negative: were onions -0.05 percent, household fuels -0.04 percent, fresh tuna, spinach, fresh tuna, skipjack, wet shrimp and long beans respectively - 0.03 percent, as well as fresh fish, kale and milkfish respectively -0.02 percent.
