Witnessing of 2025 SNLIK Data Collection in Polewali Mandar

January 23, 2025 | BPS Activities

Polewali Mandar, January 23, 2025 – The implementation of the National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK) in Polewali Mandar Regency has received special attention from various parties. To ensure smooth and accurate data, a supervisory team from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) of South Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of West Sulawesi Province, and the BPS of Polewali Mandar Regency went directly to the field to conduct witnessing of the data collection process.

Senior Statistician Expert of BPS West Sulawesi, Sri Mulyani, emphasized the importance of this survey in providing a real picture of community financial literacy and inclusion.

"SNLIK is the main reference in measuring the extent of community understanding and access to financial services. The results of this survey will later become the basis for formulating strategic policies," she said.

The witnessing activity was carried out in three sub-districts, namely Mapilli Sub-district, Luyo Sub-district, and Binuang Sub-district. The supervisor team directly visited the data collectors in the field, such as Ansar, Satriadi, and Hermawan, to ensure that the process was running according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

Fatmawati Podungge, a supervisor from OJK, explained that witnessing was part of an evaluation effort so that obstacles in the field could be resolved immediately.

"We want to ensure that the data collection method used is in accordance with the SOP and the concept of variables in the questionnaire that was given in the previous training. Some obstacles were indeed found, such as the absence of respondents during the first visit, but a repeat visit strategy has been implemented so that the data remains accurate," she explained.

SNLIK data collection in Polewali Mandar has begun since January 22, 2025 and will last for one month. In 2025, this survey is planned to cover two districts in West Sulawesi, namely Mamuju Regency and Polewali Mandar Regency, using the Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) method using tablet or android devices.

The results of SNLIK will later produce a Financial Literacy Index and Financial Inclusion Index which are estimated at the national level.

The data obtained is expected to provide a clearer picture of the level of financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia. In addition, the results of this survey will be the basis for OJK and related agencies in formulating more effective policies to improve financial literacy in the community.
