BPS Mamuju Prepares 2024 PODES Officers, Head of BPS West Sulawesi Gives Directions

April 29, 2024 | BPS Activities

Mamuju, 29 April 2024 – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Mamuju Regency held training for prospective Village Potential Data Collection (PODES) officers in 2024 at the Grand Maleo Hotel & Convention Mamuju. This training was opened directly by the Head of BPS West Sulawesi, Tina Wahyufitri, on Monday (29/4/2024).

In her speech, Tina expressed her thanks and appreciation to all prospective officers for their hard work and commitment in completing all statistical activities. He explained that PODES is the only complete regional data collection carried out by BPS. Podes data is able to describe the potential of an area down to the village level. This data is also used as part of the preparation for the 2026 Economy Census (SE).

"PODES 2024 will cover all administrative areas at village, sub-district and district/city levels in Indonesia," explained Tina. "In Mamuju, there are 101 villages/sub-districts, 11 sub-districts and 1 district/city that will be recorded."

PODES 2024 has several new things compared to the previous PODES, namely the delivery of Pre-Podes 2024 Data Collection data to each village as a form of BPS's commitment to providing copies of Podes result data sourced from villages. Utilization of Socio-Economic Registration (Regsosek) data for appropriate data for applications and providing predefine infrastructure lists for the 2024 Podes Questionnaire for Districts and Regency/City. ID-IKG monitoring dashboard to monitor the fairness of the Village Index (ID) and Geographic Difficulty Index (IKG) values.

Message to Training Participants

Tina advised all training participants to follow the entire training series carefully and ask if there was anything they did not understand. He also reminded officers to ensure that the data collection application is installed on their cellphones and can be used properly.

"Make sure you all follow the schedule that has been set and discuss the important points that will occur in the field," ordered Tina. "Create a communication medium and discuss if there are problems related to data collection activities."

It is hoped that the 2024 PODES training will produce competent and professional officers in collecting village potential data. The resulting data will later become important basic data for development planning at various levels.
