BPS West Sulawesi Holds Statistical Coaching, Improves Sectoral Data Quality

February 28, 2024 | Other Activities

Mamuju, West Sulawesi – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of West Sulawesi Province (Sulbar) is committed to strengthening coordination and improving the quality of sectoral statistical data in its region. One of the efforts made is by holding Statistical Coaching Through Intensive Class (COSMIC) Recommendations for Sectoral Statistics Activities on 28-29 February 2024.

This COSMIC activity was attended by representatives from Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) within the West Sulawesi Provincial Government. In this activity, participants received material about the National Statistical System, One Indonesian Data, and procedures for filling out sectoral statistical activity recommendation forms via the Romantik Online Application.

Head of BPS West Sulawesi, Tina Wahyufitri, said that recommendations for statistical activities were a form of BPS's role in developing sectoral statistics. This is important to avoid data duplication, provide accurate metadata, and produce quality statistical data.

"Providing statistical recommendations is also important because it is stated in Minister of Home Affairs Regulation 18 of 2020 concerning Reports and Evaluation of Regional Government Implementation," said Tina.

Tina added, since June 2023, notification of draft sectoral statistical activities will be carried out via the Romantik Online Application. This makes it easier for OPD to independently notify the design of its statistical activities online.

"In this COSMIC activity, the OPD will be accompanied by a coach who will assist in filling out the recommendation form for sectoral statistical activities," explained Tina.

Tina hopes that this activity can increase OPD's understanding of the importance of recommendations for statistical activities and encourage the realization of One Indonesian Data in West Sulawesi.
