Statistics of Sulawesi Barat Province has released some strategic indicators, related to the consumer price index in September 2022, Farmers Term of Trade in September 2022, overview of tourism in August 2022, transport in August 2022, and Foreign Trade in August 2022. It was delivered by the Chief of Statistics Sulawesi Barat Province, Tina Wahyufitri, on Monday, 3rd October 2022.

 

Here's a summary of the data submitted:

I. In September 2022, Mamuju experienced inflation of 1.08 percent

  • Inflation in the city of Mamuju occurred because of the price increase shown by the increase in eight indexes of expenditure groups namely food, beverage and tobacco groups 0.12 percent; clothing and footwear groups 0.16 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups 0.19 percent; group of equipment, equipment, and household routine maintenance 0.74 percent; transportation group 8.33 percent; Recreation, sports and culture group 0.69 percent; Food and beverage/restaurant supply group 0.01 percent; and private maintenance groups and other services 0.89 percent. While the group that experienced deflation was the health group 0.43 percent and the information group, communication, and financial services were 0.30 percent.

  • The calendar year index change rate in September 2022 in Mamuju recorded a 5.39 percent inflation and the index change rate of the year (September 2022 against September 2021) showed an inflation of 6.72 percent.

  • Based on the results of a consumer price survey of 90 cities in Indonesia in September 2022 showed that 88 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Bukittinggi by 1.87 percent and the lowest occurred in Merauke by 0.07 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Manokwari by 0.64 percent and the lowest occurred in Timika by 0.59 percent. Mamuju with inflation 1.08 percent ranks 44 out of 88 cities that experience inflation.


II. September 2022, the exchange rate of Sulawesi Barat farmers was 114.04. Up 6.20% compared to August 2022

  • NTP is a comparison of IT to IB that is used to show the exchange power of agricultural products with goods and services consumed and for production costs. The higher the NTP, the relatively stronger the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers.

  • Starting in January 2020 a change of basic year was carried out in the calculation of the price index received by farmers (IT) and the price index paid by farmers (IB) from the 2012 base year = 100 to the basic year 2018 = 100. Both types of indexes are components in the calculation of farmers' exchange rates (NTP). This basic year change is carried out to adjust changes in production patterns, production costs, and household consumption in rural areas. In the base year 2018 = 100 there was an increase in the scope of the number of commodities both in the IT and IB commodity packages compared to the 2012 Basic Year = 100.

  • Sulawesi Barat NTP September 2022 amounted to 114.04 or up 6.20 percent compared to August 2022 NTP which amounted to 107.38. The NTP increase was caused by IT which experienced a greater increase than IB, where IT was recorded at 7.55 percent while IB increased by 1.28 percent.

  • NTP according to the subsector is recorded for the Food Crops Sub-sector (NTP-P) 93.49; Horticultural Subsector (NTP-H) 106.44; People's Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP-R) 130.40; Livestock Subsector (NTP-T) 95.89; and the Fisheries Subsector (NTN-P) 110.17.


III. In August 2022, the Bintang Classification Hotel TPK was 27.78 percent, decreased by 3.68 points compared to July 2022

  • Room occupancy rate (TPK) Hotel Star Classification in Sulawesi Barat Province in the August 2022 period of 27.78 percent. The TPK decreased by 3.68 points compared to the July 2022 period which was recorded at 31.46 percent.

  • Other accommodation room occupancy rates (TPK) in Sulawesi Barat Province in the August 2022 period of 21.99 percent. The TPK increased by 2.21 points compared to the July 2022 period which was recorded at 19.78 percent.

  • The average length of staying of the archipelago guests in the August 2022 period at the star classification hotel was recorded at 1.23 days or increased by 0.05 days compared to the July 2022 period which was recorded at 1.18 days. Meanwhile, the average length of stay of foreign guests was recorded at 3.33 days or increased by 2.33 days compared to last month which was recorded at 1.00 days.

  • The average number of guests per hotel room classification in the August 2022 period was 1.98 people or an increase of 0.07 points compared to the July 2022 period of 1.91 people.

  • The average number of guests per other accommodation room in the August 2022 period was 2.05 people or an increase of 0.10 points compared to the July 2022 period of 1.95 people.


IV. The number of aircraft departed and arrived in August 2022 was 40 and 41 aircraft, the number of ships came and departed in August 2022 as many as 189 boat

  • The number of aircraft passengers departing in August 2022 was 1,789 passengers, decreased by 15.81 percent compared to July 2022 which was recorded at 2,125 passengers.

  • The number of aircraft passengers who arrived in August 2022 was 1,854 passengers, decreased by 12.46 percent compared to July 2022 which was recorded at 2,118 passengers.

  • The number of ship passengers departing in August 2022 was 641 passengers, decreased by 56.19 percent compared to July 2022 which was 1,463 passengers.

  • The number of ship passengers who arrived in August 2022 was 511 passengers, decreased by 49.95 percent compared to July 2022 which was recorded at 1,021 passengers.


V. During August 2022 the export value of Sulawesi Barat Province reached US $ 49.61 million, and the import value of Sulawesi Barat Province reached US $ 1.26 million

  • During August 2022 the import value of Sulawesi Barat Province reached US $ 1.26 million, up when compared to July 2022 which was not recorded for import activities in Sulawesi Barat Province. The export value of Sulawesi Barat Province in August 2022 reached US $ 49.61 million, down 22.10 percent compared to July 2022. The same condition compared to August 2021 where there was a decrease of 14.81 percent.

  • Animal/Vegetable Oil is a major export commodity in Sulawesi Barat Province during August 2022 with a contribution of 95.12 percent of the total exports of Sulawesi Barat Province.

  • China became the largest destination country for the export of Sulawesi Barat Province during August 2022 with a contribution of 95.12 percent.

  • Cumulatively, the export value of Sulawesi Barat Province dropped by 29.63 percent, from US $ 411.43 million (January-August 2021) to US $ 289.52 million (January-August 2022).

  • During August 2022, the import value of Sulawesi Barat Province was recorded at US $ 1.26 million.

  • During the January-August period 2022, the import value of Sulawesi Barat Province was recorded at US $ 2.85 million or an increase of 175.96 percent compared to the same period in the previous year which was recorded at US $ 1.03 million.

  • Foreign Trade Statistics Data, is the result of compilation of trade transaction data between countries, both export and import transactions. Export statistical data is a realization data from trading transactions sourced in the Export Notification Document (PEB). Whereas import statistical data, sourced from the Import notification document (PIB). The document was approved by the Customs and Excise and Excise Services Office (KPPBC). In its preparation, the type of commodity is grouped based on the Harmonized System (HS) classification as in the Indonesian Customs Rates (BTKI). Besides that, it also contains information about trade transportation traffic in the port of export goods to the destination country and the port of unloading from the country of origin of imported goods.
