BPS-Statistics Sulawesi Barat Province has released several of the latest strategic indicators, related to the April 2024 Consumer Price Index, April 2024 Farmers Terms of Trade, March 2024 Foreign Trade, March 2024 Transportation Development, and March 2024 Tourism Development. This was conveyed by the Head of Sulawesi Barat Province BPS, Tina Wahyufitri, on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024.
Here is a summary of these data:
I. April 2024 Inflation Year On Year (Y-On-Y) of Sulawesi Barat Province is 2.02 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Mamuju Regency by 2.49 percent
In April 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Sulawesi Barat Province will be 2.02 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.53. The highest inflation occurred in Mamuju at 2.49 percent with a CPI of 104.85 and the lowest occurred in Majene Regency at 1.71 percent with a CPI of 105.96.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.87 percent; health group by 2.34 percent; transportation group at 0.74 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 2.04 percent; education group at 0.67 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 6.08 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 1.76 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: clothing and footwear group by 2.30 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.11 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.14 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group at 0.20 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for Sulawesi Barat Province is 0.27 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate is 0.30 percent.
II. April 2024, the exchange rate of Sulawesi Barat farmers is 147.80. Up 6.81 % compared to March 2024
NTP is the ratio of It to Ib which is used to show the exchangeability (terms of trade) of agricultural products for goods and services consumed as well as for production costs. The higher the NTP, the relatively stronger the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers.
Starting March 2020, the base year was changed in calculating the Price Index Received by Farmers (It) and the Price Index Paid by Farmers (Ib) from the base year 2012=100 to the base year 2018=100. These two types of index are components in calculating the Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP). This change in base year was made to adjust to changes in production patterns, production costs and consumption of agricultural households in rural areas. In the base year 2018=100, there was an increase in the number of commodities in both It and Ib commodity packages compared to the base year 2012=100.
Sulawesi Barat NTP April 2024 was 147.80 or an increase of 6.81 percent compared to NTP March 2024 which was 138.37. The increase in NTP is caused by an increase in It which is faster than an increase in Ib. It was recorded as increasing by 7.23 percent and Ib by 0.39 percent.
NTP by subsector was recorded for the Food Crops Subsector (NTP-P) 104.44; Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H) 109.32; Community Plantation Plantation Subsector (NTP-R) 192.76; Subsector
III. During March 2024 the export value of Sulawesi Barat Province reached US $ 49.74 million, and there were no import activities in Sulawesi Barat Province
The export value of Sulawesi Barat Province in March 2024 reached US$ 49.74 million, an increase of 60.52 percent compared to February 2024. Conditions are different compared to March 2023 where there was a decrease of 0.04 percent.
Animal/vegetable fats & oils are the main export commodities of Sulawesi Barat Province during March 2024 with a contribution of 96.71 percent of the total exports of Sulawesi Barat Province.
China is the main export destination country for Sulawesi Barat Province during March 2024 with a contribution of 92.54 percent.
During March 2024, there will be no import activities in Sulawesi Barat Province. This condition is different from February 2024, when imports were recorded at US$ 0.38 million. The condition is the same when compared to March 2023, which also recorded imports of US$ 1.21 million.
Cumulatively, the import value of Sulawesi Barat Province fell by 79.10 percent, from US$ 1.80 million (January-March 2023) to US$ 0.38 million (January-March 2024).
Foreign trade statistical data is the result of a compilation of trade transaction data between countries, both export and import transactions. Export statistical data is realization data from trade transactions sourced from the Goods Export Notification (PEB) document. Meanwhile, import statistical data is sourced from the Goods Import Notification (PIB) document. Documents are approved by the Customs and Excise Supervision and Services Office (KPPBC). In its preparation, commodity types are grouped based on the Harmonized System (HS) classification as in the Indonesian Customs Tariff Book (BTKI). Apart from that, it also contains information regarding trade transportation traffic at the port of loading of exported goods to the destination country and the port of unloading from the country of origin of the imported goods.
IV. In March 2024, Room Occupancy Rate of Classified Hotel was 22.58 percent and Room Occupancy Rate of non-Classified hotel and other accommodation was 17.28 percent
The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) for Classified Hotels in Sulawesi Barat Province for the period March 2024 is 22.58 percent. The TPK experienced a decrease of 11.50 points when compared to the period in February 2024 which was recorded at 34.08 percent.
The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) for non-classified hotels or other accommodation in Sulawesi Barat Province for the period March 2024 is 17.28 percent. The TPK experienced a decrease of 3.52 points when compared to the period in February 2024 which was recorded at 20.80 percent.
The average length of stay for Indonesian guests for the period March 2024 at Classified Hotels was recorded at 1.00 days or decreased by 0.41 points compared to the period in February 2024 which was recorded at 1.41 days. Meanwhile, the average length of stay for foreign guests at Classified Hotels was 1.47 days, an increase of 0.47 points compared to the previous period.
The average number of guests per Classified Hotel room in the March 2024 period was recorded at 1.98 people or has not changed compared to last month's conditions. Meanwhile, the average number of guests per hotel room classified as Non-Classified or Other Accommodation in the March 2024 period was recorded at 1.97 people or a decrease of 0.12 points when compared to last month's condition which was recorded at 1.85 people.
V. The number of aircraft departed and arrived in March 2024 as many as 19 aircraft, the number of ships came and departed in March 2024 as many as 229 ships
The number of airplane passengers departing in March 2024 was recorded at 1,783 passengers, an increase of 30.62 percent compared to February 2024 which was recorded at 1,365 passengers.
The number of airplane passengers arriving in March 2024 was recorded at 1,878 passengers, an increase of 36.48 percent compared to February 2024 which was recorded at 1,376 passengers.
The number of ship passengers departing in March 2024 was recorded at 1,621 passengers, an increase of 135.27 percent compared to February 2024 which was recorded at 689 passengers.
The number of ship passengers arriving in March 2024 was recorded at 1,329 passengers, a decrease of 26.25 percent compared to February 2024 which was recorded at 1,802 passengers.
