BPS-Statistics Sulawesi Barat Province has released latest strategic indicators, related to Economic Growth 4th Quarter 2023. This was conveyed by the Head of Sulawesi Barat Province BPS, Tina Wahyufitri, on Monday, February 5th, 2024.

I. Sulawesi Barat GRDP Growth Rate 2023: 5.25 percent (c-to-c)
The economy of Sulawesi Barat in 2023 measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on the basis of valid prices reached 58.55 trillion rupiah, while on the basis of constant 2010 prices reached 35.43 trillion rupiah.
The economy of Sulawesi Barat in 2023 experienced a growth of 5.25 percent when compared to 2022 (C-to-C). Increasing the creation of added value occurs in most business field categories. The largest source of economic growth occurs in the categories of agriculture, fisheries and forestry. While in terms of expenditure, the largest source of economic growth comes from the net export component.
The economy of Sulawesi Barat in the first quarter of-2023 experienced a growth of 4.44 percent when compared to the fourth quarter of 2022 (Y-on-Y).
The economy of Sulawesi Barat quarter IV-2023 experienced a contraction of -1.20 percent compared to the third quarter of the III-2023 (Q-to-Q).
On the regional scale in the Sulawesi region of Maluku Papua, the highest economic growth in 2023 occurred in North Maluku which was able to reach growth of 20.49 percent, followed by Central Sulawesi which reached a growth of 11.91 percent. The Sulawesi Barat was only able to grow by 5.25 percent, occupying the position of seven out of fourteen provinces in the Sulampua region.
