BPS of Sulawesi Barat Province has implemented one of the flagship innovations, namely COSMIC (Coaching Statistics Through Intensive Class). BPS Sulawesi Barat Province conducted guidance at the Regional Development Planning Agency (BAPPEDA) of Sulawesi Barat Province on Monday (12/9). Muhammad Nurbakti and Misnawati Mansur are trusted to be resource persons about the importance of development planning with data. The coaching participants consisted of the planning work team of the BAPPEDA of West Sulawesi Province accompanied by the Secretary of BAPPEDA.

"Data is a new source of wealth, valid data is one of the keys to development," said Nurbakti, quoting one of the president's speeches on several occasions. Nurbakti also conveyed the importance of always equipping oneself so as not to be left behind. "Disruption forces us to work quickly and precisely, so that good data will become capital in development planning," he explained.

Nurbakti also conveyed several innovations from the BPS of Sulawesi Barat Province that can be accessed anytime and anywhere, such as Pride Sulbar, Dasita' Marasa, and COSMIC. Pride Sulbar displays all forms of statistical data development according to SDI and GSBPM standards. Dasita' Marasa displays various publications released by the BPS for the Province of West Sulawesi, and COSMIC is a class-intensive data coaching service.

During Misnawati's presentation, the coaching participants were very enthusiastic about listening to the material on data analysis and presentation and proactively asking questions. "Sometimes we receive sectoral data from OPD whose data is not convincing, how do we control it so that the data can be accounted for in its presentation?" asked Saeful, one of the participants. Misna explained that it really takes careful observation to see the consistency of the data, confirm it with the relevant OPD, and conduct FGD before releasing the data.

At the end of the event, the secretary of BAPPEDA, Muh. Darwis appreciated and thanked the BPS team of the Province of West Sulawesi who always took the time to provide guidance material presentations. (*Ardian)
