Abstract
Deflation in the city of Mamuju occurs because of a decrease in prices shown by the decline of two expenditure group indexes namely food, beverage and tobacco groups 1.52 percent and residential groups, water, electricity, and household fuel 0.02 percent. While the expenditure group that experiences deflation is clothing and footwear groups 0.02 percent; group of equipment, equipment, and household routine maintenance 0.14 percent; health group 0.14 percent; Transportation group 0.05 percent; Recreation, sports and culture groups 1.46 percent; and private maintenance groups and other services 0.76 percent.
The calendar year index change rate in August 2022 in Mamuju recorded a 4.27 percent inflation and the index change rate of the year (August 2022 against August 2021) showed a 4.77 percent inflation.
Based on the results of a consumer price survey of 90 cities in Indonesia in August 2022 showed that 11 cities experienced inflation and 79 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Ambon by 0.82 percent and the lowest occurred in Bekasi by 0.12 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan by 1.65 percent and the lowest occurred in Depok and Kediri with deflation of 0.01 percent. Mamuju with a deflation of 0.54 percent ranks 40 out of 79 cities that experience inflation.
