Abstract

Based on the results of the Consumer Price Survey of 66 cities in Indonesia in July 2013, it showed that all cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Ternate 6.04 percent with CPI 147.05 and the lowest in Singkawang 1.36 percent with CPI 146.30. With inflation of 2.42 percent and CPI 144.19, Mamuju ranks 55th out of 66 cities experiencing inflation.

Mamuju experienced calendar year inflation (December 2012 - July 2013) of 4.30 percent and year on year inflation rate (July 2012 - July 2013) of 5.40 percent.

Indonesia in July 2013 experienced inflation of 3.29 percent, with CPI 144.63. The inflation rate of the Indonesian calendar year (December 2012 - July 2013) was 6.75 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (July 2012 - July 2013) was 8.61 percent.

Inflation in Mamuju in July 2013 was mainly caused by an increase in the consumer price index in six expenditure groups, namely: the transportation, communication and financial services group 6.04 percent, the foodstuffs group 3.70 percent, the processed food group, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 1 , 26 percent, the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.81 percent, the health group 0.76 percent and the education, recreation and sports group 0.37 percent, while the clothing group experienced a decrease of -0.42 percent.

The increase in the price index in the transportation, communication and financial services group was caused by a significant increase in the price index in the transportation sub-group by 8.40 percent.

The dominant commodities contributing to inflation were: 0.68 percent gasoline, 0.25 percent shallots, purebred eggs and bananas 0.16 percent each, inter-city transportation 0.14 percent, filter clove cigarettes 0.13 percent, brick / stone tela and purebred chicken each 0.08 percent, air transport, rice and apples 0.06 percent each, skipjack tuna 0.05 percent, household fuel 0.04 percent, live chickens, flying fish, house contracts, logs and white cigarettes at 0.03 percent each, as well as beef, cars, urban transportation, motorbikes, cabbage / white cabbage, gado-gado, tuna, noodles and oranges respectively. 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the dominant commodities suppressing the inflation rate were: garlic -0.06 percent, jewelry gold 0.05 percent, as well as powder detergent soap, cayenne pepper, peanuts, and carrots each -0.01 percent.
