The highest inflation occurred in Sibologa 1.96 percent with CPI 149.51 and the lowest in Gorontalo 0.11 percent with CPI 140.95. With inflation of 0.44 percent and CPI 140.78, Mamuju ranks 58th highest in cities experiencing inflation.
Mamuju experienced calendar year inflation (December 2012 - June 2013) of 1.84 percent and year-on-year inflation (June 2012 - June 2013) of 4.30 percent.
Indonesia in June 2013 experienced a deflation of 1.04 percent, with a CPI of 140.04. The inflation rate of the Indonesian calendar year (December 2012 - June 2013) was 3.36 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (June 2012 - June 2013) was 5.91 percent.
Inflation in Mamuju in June 2013 was mainly due to an increase in the consumer price index in four expenditure groups, namely: the transportation, communication and financial services group 2.45 percent, the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group 0.21 percent, the education, recreation group and sports 0.15 percent and the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.14 percent, while the health group, the clothing group and the food group experienced a decrease of -0.19 percent, -0.08 percent and -0.04 percent.
The increase in the price index in the transportation, communication and financial services group was caused by a significant increase in the price index in the transportation sub-group by 3.45 percent.
The dominant commodities contributing to inflation were: gasoline 0.29 percent, inter-city transportation 0.06 percent, red chillies 0.05 percent, white cigarettes 0.04 percent, garlic and oranges 0.03 percent each, dried anchovies and fruit tomatoes 0.02 percent each, as well as live chickens, green beans, eggs, chicken, household fuel, rice, boards, vegetable tomatoes, wardrobe, house contracts, apples, carrots, city transportation, lubricants / oil, salted fish, chicken, water spinach, bananas, lime / lime, diesel, striped notebooks and air transportation respectively 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the dominant commodities suppressing the inflation rate were: cayenne pepper -0.12 percent, skipjack tuna -0.06 percent, flying fish and shallots -0.03 percent respectively, as well as gold jewelery, tuna, milkfish , wet shrimp, coconut oil, shampoo, liquid soap / dish washing, women's jeans and cabbage / cabbage, each -0.01 percent.
