The Farmers Exchange Rate (NTP) of Sulawesi Barat in December 2011 was 103.70, down 0.21 percent compared to the November 2011 NTP which was 103.92. In addition, FTT according to the subsector was recorded for the Food Crop subsector (FTT-P) 89.06; Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H) 84.59; People's Plantation Plant Subsector (NTP-R) 127.26; Livestock Subsector (NTP-T) 112.28; and Fisheries Subsector (NTN) 106.00.
The results of monitoring consumer prices in rural areas showed that rural deflation in Sulawesi Barat in December 2011 was 0.12 percent, which was generally due to a decrease in the price index in the two expenditure groups namely the food expenditure group -0.63 percent and the education, recreation and education expenditure groups sports -0.07 percent. While the five other expenditure groups experienced inflation, with the housing group 0.52 percent, the processed food group 0.51 percent, the clothing group 0.16 percent, the transportation and communication group 0.16 percent, and the health group 0.07 percent.
Inflation in rural areas occurred in 28 provinces, the highest in East Java 0.58 percent and the lowest in West Papua 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, four other provinces experienced deflation in rural areas, the highest in Bengkulu -0.20 percent and the lowest in South Sumatra -0.02 percent.
For the national scale, the NTP in December 2011 was 105.75 and experienced rural inflation of 0.37 percent.
