The Farmers Exchange Rate (NTP) of West Sulawesi in December 2012 was 104.87, down 0.41 percent compared to the November 2012 NTP which was 105.31. In addition, FTT according to the subsector was recorded for the Food Crop sub-sector (FT-P) 88.31; Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H) 87,33; People's Plantation Plant Subsector (NTP-R) 130.46; Livestock Subsector (NTP-T) 113.85; and Fisheries Subsector (NTN) 107.35.
The results of monitoring consumer prices in rural areas showed that rural deflation in West Sulawesi in December 2012 was 0.02 percent, which was generally driven by a decline in the price index of food expenditure groups by 0.17 percent. While six other expenditure groups experienced an increase in which the food expenditure group finished 0.22 percent, the housing expenditure group 0.06 percent, the clothing expenditure group 0.08 percent, and the health expenditure group 0.01 percent, the education spending group, recreation and sports 0.10 percent, and transportation and communication expenditure group 0.05 percent.
Inflation in rural areas occurred in 31 provinces, the highest in Maluku was 1.06 percent and the lowest in Banten was 0.06 percent. While the rest, namely West Sulawesi, rural deflation occurred by 0.02 percent. When compared to the conditions in December 2011, rural inflation occurred in 32 provinces, the highest in West Kalimantan 6.42 percent and the lowest in West Sulawesi 2.57 percent.
On a national scale, the NTP in December 2012 was 105.87 and experienced rural inflation of 0.43 percent.
