; Based on the results of the Consumer Price Survey of 66 cities in Indonesia in February 2009, there were 53 cities that experienced inflation and 13 other cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation in Samarinda was 1.62 percent with CPI 118.23 and the lowest in Manokwari 0.02 percent with CPI 127.44. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Pangkal Pinang 1.06 percent with CPI 118.53 and the lowest in Tangerang 0.03 percent with CPI 115.92. ; The inflation rate in 2009 (February 2009 to December 2008) was -0.70 percent, while the year-on-year inflation rate (February 2009 to February 2008) was 10.50 percent. ; Inflation in Mamuju in February 2009 was generally caused by an increase in the consumer price index of various commodities in the following four categories of goods and services: processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.95 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.29 percent; clothing group 3.03 percent; and the health group 1.15 percent.
