Abstract

RICE, MAIZE AND SOYBEAN PRODUCTION (TEMPORARY FIGURES OF 2008 AND RAMALAN FIRST I 2009) A. RICE (Lowland Rice + Field Rice); Provisional Figures (ASEM) of West Sulawesi Province's rice production in 2008 amounted to 346,743 tons of Dry Grain (GKG), an increase of 34,067 tons (10.90 percent) compared to rice production in 2007, which amounted to 312,676 tons. The increase in rice production in 2008 was supported by an increase in productivity of 0.92 quintal / hectare (1.96 percent) and also an increase in harvested area of ​​5,840 hectares (8.76 percent). ; Forecast Number I (ARAM I) of West Sulawesi Province's 2009 rice production is estimated to reach 354,910 tons of MPD, an increase of 8,167 tons (2.36 percent) compared to 2008 production (ASEM). The increase in production in 2009 was triggered by an increase in productivity which is also expected to increase from 47.85 quintal / hectare in 2008 to 48.59 quintal / hectare in 2009, or an increase of 0.74 quintal / hectare (1.55 percent), thus also with an estimated harvested area of ​​577 hectares (0.80 percent), from 72,471 hectares in 2008 (ASEM) to 73,048 hectares in 2009 (ARAM I 2009) B. CORN; Provisional Figures (ASEM) of West Sulawesi Province corn production in 2008 amounted to 33,024 tons of dry shelled rice, an increase of 6,391 tons (24.00 percent) compared to 2007 production. Increased corn production was triggered by an increase in harvested area of ​​1,751 hectares (23.79 percent ) and also an increase in productivity of 0.06 quintal / hectare (0.17 percent), from 36.19 quintal / hectare in 2007 to 36.25 quintal / hectare in 2008.; The forecast figure (ARAM I) of West Sulawesi Province corn production in 2009 was 33,031 tons of dry shelled or increased by 7 tons (0.02 percent) compared to the 2008 production.
