RICE, MAIZE AND SOYBEAN PRODUCTION (FIXED FIGURE 2008 AND RAMALAN FIGURE II 2009) A. RICE (Lowland Rice + Field Rice); The Fixed Figures (ATAP) of West Sulawesi Province's 2008 rice production was 343,222 tons of Dry Grain (GKG), an increase of 30,546 tons (9.77 percent) compared to 2007's rice production, which amounted to 312,676 tons. The increase in rice production in 2008 was supported by an increase in harvested area of 5,841 hectares (8.76 percent), likewise in terms of productivity increased by about 0.43 kw / ha (0.92 percent). ; Furthermore, the Forecast Number II (ARAM II) of West Sulawesi Province's 2009 rice production is estimated to reach 345,697 tons of MPD, an increase of 2,475 tons (0.72 percent) compared to 2008 production. Increased corn production was triggered by an increase in harvested area of 1,751 hectares (23.79 percent) and also an increase productivity of 7.99 quintals / hectare (22.08 percent), from 36.19 quintals / hectare in 2007 to 44.18 quintals / hectare in 2008.; Forecast Number II (ARAM II) of West Sulawesi Province corn production in 2009 was 40,262 tons of dry shelled or increased by 11 tons (0.03 percent) compared to 2008 production.
