Abstract

; Farmers Exchange Rate (NTP) of Sulawesi Barat in November 2008 was 101.65, down 0.39 percent compared to October 2008 NTP which reached 102.05. In addition, NTP according to the subsector recorded 93.55 for the Food Crop Subsector (NTP-P); 88.74 for the Horticultural Subsector (NTP-H); 117.07 for the People's Plantation Plant Subsector (NTP-R); 105.02 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-T) and 103.28 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTN). ; The results of monitoring of rural consumer prices show deflation in rural areas in West Sulawesi in November 2008 of 0.44 percent, which is generally due to a significant decrease in the price index in two of the seven expenditure groups, namely: foodstuffs and housing respectively by -1.01 percent and -0.73 percent. While five other expenditure groups experienced an increase in price index, among others: processed food 0.13 percent; clothing 0.35 percent; health 0.90 percent; education, recreation and sports 0.43 percent; and transportation and communication 0.19 percent. ; Compared to other provinces, Sulawesi Barat is one of the 15 provinces experiencing deflation in rural areas, the highest in Gorontalo 1.23 percent and the lowest in West Java 0.11 percent. With deflation of 0.44 percent, West Sulawesi ranks 8th out of 15 provinces experiencing deflation. Meanwhile, 17 other provinces experienced inflation, the highest in West Sumatra 1.12 percent and the lowest in Yogyakarta 0.01 percent. Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) obtained from the comparison of the price index received by farmers against the price index paid by farmers, is one indicator to see the level of ability / purchasing power of farmers.
