Abstract

; In July 2008, the NTP of Sulawesi Barat each subsector was recorded at 89.32 for the Food Crop Subsector (NTP-P), 90.32 for the Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H), 131.28 for the People's Plantation Plant Subsector (NTP- R), 100.68 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-T) and 99.63 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTN). While the West Sulawesi Province NTP of 101.68 decreased by 1.04 percent when compared to the NTP in June 2008 which reached 102.75. ; In July 2008, rural area inflation in Sulawesi Barat Province amounted to 1.73 percent due to an increase in the price index of several expenditure groups, as follows: foodstuffs (2.16%); prepared food, drinks and cigarettes (0.19%); housing (2.22%); clothing (1.15%); health (0.43%); education, recreation and sports (2.10%); and transportation and communication (3.07%). ; Of the 32 provinces included in the NTP calculation, all experienced inflation in rural areas. The province with the highest inflation was Papua at 3.12 percent while the lowest was North Maluku at 0.35 percent.
