Abstract

RICE, MAIZE AND SOYBEAN PRODUCTION (TEMPORARY FIGURES OF 2007 AND RAMALAN FIRST I 2008) A. RICE (Lowland Rice + Field Rice); Provisional Figures (ASEM) of West Sulawesi Province's rice production in 2007 amounted to 312,676 tons Dry Milled Grain (GKG), an increase of 11,060 tons (3.67 percent) compared to 2006 rice production, amounting to 301,616 tons. The increase in rice production in 2007 was supported by an increase in productivity of 0.14 quintal / hectare (0.30 percent) and also an increase in harvested area of 2,168 hectares (3.36 percent). ; Forecast I (ARAM I) of Sulawesi Barat Province's rice production in 2008 was estimated at 321,002 tons of MPD, an increase of 8,326 tons (2.66 percent) compared to 2007 (ASEM) production. The increase in production in 2008 was triggered by an increase in productivity which is also expected to increase from 46.93 quintal / hectare in 2007 to 47.09 quintal / hectare in 2008, or an increase of 0.16 quintal / hectare (0.34 percent), thus the harvested area is estimated to increase by 1,543 hectares (2.32 percent), from 66,630 hectares in 2007 (ASEM) to 68,173 hectares in 2008 (ARAM I 2008) B. CORN. Provisional Figures (ASEM) of Sulawesi Barat Province corn production in 2007 was 26,633 tons of dry seed, an increase of 8,524 tons (47.07 percent) compared to 2006 production. Increased corn production was triggered by an increase in harvested area of 2,158 hectares (41.49 percent ) and also an increase in productivity of 1.37 quintal / hectare (3.93 percent), from 34.82 quintal / hectare in 2006 to 36.19 quintal / hectare in 2007.; Forecast figures (ARAM I) of Sulawesi Barat Province corn production in 2008 amounted to 27,483 tons of dry shelled or increased by 850 tons (3.19 percent) compared to 2007 production. The increase in corn production was triggered by an increase in harvested area of 218 hectares (2, 96 percent) and also increased productivity by 0.08 quintal / hectare (0.22 percent). C. SOYBEAN; ASEM West Sulawesi soybean production in 2007 was 1,080 tons of dry beans, an increase of 31 tons (2.96 percent) compared to 2006 production. The increase in production occurred due to an increase in harvested area of 10 hectares (1.28 percent) and also an increase in productivity at 0.22 quintal / hectare (1.64 percent).
