Mamuju, March 1 2024 - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of West Sulawesi Province (Sulbar) recorded that the Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of Star Classified Hotels in West Sulawesi in January 2024 had decreased by 21.30 percent compared to December 2023.

"The TPK for Star Classified Hotels in West Sulawesi in January 2024 was 26.84 percent, down 21.30 points from 48.14 percent in December 2023," said Head of BPS West Sulawesi Tina Wahyufitri in a news release in Mamuju, Friday.

The decrease in ROR also occurred in non-star hotels or other accommodation, namely by 3.52 points from 19.92 percent in December 2023 to 16.40 percent in January 2024.

"The decrease in TPK in January 2024 is likely due to several factors, such as seasonal factors and school holidays which have ended," said Tina.

Even though TPK has decreased, the average length of stay for Indonesian guests at Star Classified Hotels has increased by 0.03 days from 1.11 days in December 2023 to 1.14 days in January 2024.

"The average number of guests per Star Classified Hotel room also increased by 0.02 points from 1.99 people in December 2023 to 2.01 people in January 2024," said Tina.
