September 2022: The level of inequality of population expenditure in Sulawesi Barat 0.371

Abstract

  • In September 2022, the level of inequality of population expenditure of Sulawesi Barat Province measured by the Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.371. This figure increased 0.009 points when compared to the Gini Ratio March 2022. Meanwhile when compared to the Gini Ratio September 2021 which was 0.366, the Gini Ratio September 2022 increased by 0.005 points.

  • Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2022 was recorded at 0.472, an increase of 0.024 points when compared to the Gini Ratio March 2022 which was 0.448 and increased by 0.021 points when compared to the Gini Ratio September 2021 which was 0.451. While the Gini Ratio in the rural area in September 2022 was recorded at 0.315 down, by 0.007 points when compared to the Gini Ratio March 2022 and dropped by 0.011 points when compared to the Gini Ratio September 2021 which was 0.326.

  • In September 2022, the distribution of expenditure of the lowest 40 percent population group was 18.72 percent. This means that the expenditure of the population is still in the category of low inequality. If detailed according to the region, in urban areas, the figure is recorded at 13.68 percent which means it is in the category of moderate inequality. As for rural areas, the figure is recorded at 20.79 percent, which means it is included in the category of low inequality.
