Abstract

• Indonesia Democracy Index (IDI) is a composite indicator that shows the level of development of democracy in Indonesia. The level of implementation achievements and progress is measured based on three aspects, 11 variables, and 28 indicators of democracy. 
• IDI calculation methodology uses four sources of data: (1) review the local newspapers, (2) review of documents (legislation, gubernatorial, etc.), (3) Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and (4) in-depth interviews. 
• Indonesia Democracy Index (IDI), Sulawesi Barat in 2020 amounted to 73.09 decreased 4.33 points compared with IDI Sulawesi Barat in 2019 amounted to 77.42. The achievement of the level of democracy in Sulawesi Barat still remain in the category of “medium”. 
 • Change from 2019-2020 influenced by three aspects of democracy: (1) Civil Liberties rose by 4.80 points (from 81.58 into 86.38), (2) Political Rights decreased by 9.13 points (from 70.22 into 61.09), and (3) institutions of Democracy which also decreased by 8.15 points (from 83.60 into 75.45)
