Abstract

West Sulawesi PDRB achievements in Quarter II 2014 based on current prices amounted to 4,587.85 billion rupiah while on the basis of constant 2000 prices amounted to 1,657.44 billion rupiah.

The economic performance of West Sulawesi as measured by the GDP increase in 2000 was in the second quarter of 2014 against the first quarter of 2014 (q to q) experiencing growth of 0.78 percent. While compared to the same quarter of 2013 (y on y), the economy of West Sulawesi moved to grow by 9.29 percent. The cumulative quarter I-II of 2014 against the cumulative quarter I-II of 2013 which illustrates the annual performance experienced growth of 9.07 percent.  Based on q-to-q growth, the agricultural sector as the main driver of economic performance in West Sulawesi experienced a contraction of up to 8.34 percent. This condition eroded total growth to 4.02 percent. The manufacturing sector grew significantly up to 32.27 percent and then followed by the building sector which grew 14.70 percent.
