The Farmers Exchange Rate (NTP) of West Sulawesi in October 2013 was 104.31, an increase of 1.02 percent compared to the September 2013 NTP of 103.26. In addition, FTT according to the subsector was recorded for the Food Crop sub-sector (FTT-P) 82.45; Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H) 90.41; People's Plantation Plant Subsector (NTP-R) 135.86; Livestock Subsector (NTP-T) 114.75; and Fisheries Subsector (NTN) 106.27.
The results of monitoring consumer prices in rural areas showed that rural deflation in West Sulawesi in October 2013 was 0.02 percent, which was generally triggered by a decrease in the price index of the food expenditure group by 0.21 percent and the processed food expenditure group by 0.08 percent. While five other expenditure groups experienced inflation, where the housing expenditure group was 0.41 percent, the clothing expenditure group was 0.49 percent, the health expenditure group was 0.75 percent, the education, recreation and sport expenditure group was 0.31 percent, and the transportation expenditure group and communication 0.02 percent.
Inflation in rural areas occurred in 21 provinces, the highest in Bali 1.05 percent and the lowest in West Papua 0.07 percent. Meanwhile, deflation occurred in 11 provinces, the highest in North Maluku -0.60 percent and the lowest in West Sulawesi -0.02 percent.
On a national scale, the NTP in October 2013 was 105.30 and experienced rural inflation of 0.31 percent.
