West Sulawesi Economic Growth in 2011 as measured by the increase in the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Adhk increased by 10.41 percent compared to 2010. This year all economic sectors in West Sulawesi experienced positive growth, with the highest growth in the electricity, gas, and clean water which grew to 34.54 percent and the lowest in the financial, rental and business services sector which only grew 3.36 percent.
The magnitude of West Sulawesi's GRDP in 2011 based on current prices reached Rp 12,895.36 billion, while on the basis of constant 2000 prices it reached Rp 5,238.36 billion, so the inflation rate at the producer price level was 6.30 percent.
On a quarterly basis, West Sulawesi's GRDP in the fourth quarter of 2011 experienced a slow growth of 0.04 percent compared to quarter III / 2011 (q-to-q), and when compared to the same quarter in the previous year (y-on- y) grew by 11.77 percent.
The three economic sectors that experienced the highest growth in Q4 / 2011 (q-to-q) were the construction sector which grew by 28.91 percent, following the services sector which grew by 10.58 percent, and the electricity, gas and clean water sector grew 6 , 51 percent. Whereas the highest growth (y-on-y) occurred in the services sector which grew to 28.99 percent, the construction sector grew 28.05 percent and the electricity, gas and water supply sector grew 25.79 percent.
The three main sectors driving the economy in West Sulawesi are the agricultural sector; service sector; and the trade, hotel and restaurant sector together accounted for 79.09 percent in 2011. the agricultural sector contributed 48.50 percent, the service sector 17.62 percent, and the trade, hotel and restaurant sector 12.97 percent
In terms of usage, in 2011 most of the GRDP was used to meet household consumption, which was 66.78 percent. Then the rest is used for government consumption 24.08 percent, gross fixed capital formation or physical investment 12.12 percent, exports 18.94 percent (marked +) and imports 23.26 percent (marked -).
All components of GRDP usage experienced positive growth in 2011. The highest growth occurred in exports of 28.47 percent, followed by imports of 17.82 percent, government consumption of 15.69 percent and household consumption of 6.90 percent.
Per capita GRDP at current prices in 2011 reached Rp 10.84 million, higher than in 2010 which amounted to Rp 9.48 million.
