SULAWESI BARAT ECONOMIC GROWTH IN 2007

Abstract

Sulawesi Barat Economic Growth in 2007 as measured by the increase in Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increased by 7.37 percent compared to 2006. All economic sectors experienced positive growth, with the highest growth in the mining and quarrying sector which grew around 19.35 percent and the lowest in the agricultural sector which only grew 4.30 percent. ; The magnitude of Sulawesi Barat GRDP in 2007 based on current prices reached Rp 6,055.67 billion while on the basis of constant 2000 prices it reached Rp 3,584.76 billion. ; On a quarterly basis, West Sulawesi's GRDP in quarter IV / 2007 increased by 3.87 percent compared to quarter III / 2007 (q-to-q), and when compared to quarter IV / 2006 (y-on-y) it grew by 6, 81 percent. ; The three economic sectors experienced the highest growth in Q4 / 2007 (q-to-q). The building sector grew by 8.01 percent, following the financial, rental and service sectors grew 6.64 percent, the mining and quarrying sector grew 5.98 percent. While the highest growth (y-on-y) occurred in the financial, rental and business services sector grew 21.27 percent, the mining and quarrying sector grew 20.81 percent and the electricity, gas and water supply sector grew 16.83 percent . ; On the usage side, most of the GRDP is used to meet household consumption by 73.47 percent, government consumption 25.08 percent, gross fixed capital formation or physical investment 12.85 percent, and imports 27.21 percent and exports 16.02 percent ( trade balance deficit 11.19 percent); All components of GRDP usage experienced growth in 2007, with the highest growth in imports of 19.27 percent, followed by household consumption 9.38 percent, gross fixed capital formation 9.19 percent, government consumption 6.87 percent and exports 6 , 16 percent. ; PDRB per capita at current prices in 2007 reached Rp. 5.95 million, higher than in 2006 which was Rp. 5.17 million, while per-capita PDRN in 2007 reached Rp. 5.16 million, also higher than the previous year Rp4.46 million.
