Based on the results of the Consumer Price Survey of 66 cities in Indonesia in December 2011, all cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kupang 2.19 percent with CPI 138.37 and the lowest in Tanjung Pinang 0.02 percent with CPI 129.86. Meanwhile, with inflation of 0.03 percent and CPI 133.85 Mamuju ranked 65th among cities experiencing inflation.
The highest inflation rate in 2011 (December 2010 - December 2011) occurred in Bima at 7.19 percent and the lowest in Manado 0.67 percent. Meanwhile, with inflation of 4.91 percent Mamuju ranks 14th among 66 CPI cities.
Meanwhile, Indonesia in December 2011 experienced inflation of 0.57 percent, with CPI 129.91. Meanwhile, Indonesia's inflation rate in 2011 (December 2010 - December 2011) was 3.79 percent.
Inflation in Mamuju in December 2011 was mainly due to an increase in the consumer price index in four expenditure groups, namely: the health group 1.18 percent, the transportation group, communication and financial services 0.48 percent, the housing group, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.19 percent and the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group 0.17 percent. While the foodstuffs, clothing and education, recreation and sports groups experienced price decreases of -0.51 percent, -0.07 percent and -0.33 percent.
Significant increase in the health group, mainly due to the magnitude of inflation in the health services sub-group by 0.04 percent. Meanwhile, the increase was also significant in the transportation, communication and financial services group, mainly due to the inflation share in the transportation sub-group by 0.08 percent.
The dominant commodities providing andilinflation were: rice 0.24 percent, fruit tomatoes 0.13 percent, motorcycle and vegetable tomatoes 0.06 percent respectively, semen 0.04 percent, general practitioner rates 0.03 percent, dried anchovies and sand each 0.02 percent, and filter clove cigarettes, specialist doctor rates, white cigarettes, powdered milk, young corn, air freight, carrots, beef, bottled water, wall paint and beds respectively 0.01 percent Meanwhile, the dominant commodities giving and inflation but negative values were: milkfish, red chilli and cayenne pepper each -0.09 percent, skipjack fish and chicken meat -0.05 percent each, tuna -0 , 04 percent, chicken eggs -0.03 percent, as well as flying fish, barong fish, lime / limes, live chickens, garlic and spinach respectively -0.02 percent.
