Abstract

DEVELOPMENT OF SULAWESI BARAT TRANSPORTATION JANUARY - MAY 2010  The number of flights through Sulawesi Barat during the January-May 2010 period reached 347 flights, which means an increase of about 101.74 percent when compared with the same period in 2009 of 172 flights.  The number of air transport passengers departing and coming through West Sulawesi during January - May 2010 reached 11,715 people. When compared with the same period in 2009 which was only 4,945 people, it means that in the period from January to May 2010 it experienced a significant increase of about 136.91 percent.  The number of goods unloaded and loaded through the Tampa Padang Mamuju Airport in Sulawesi Barat during January - May 2010 reached 53,396 kg. When compared with the same period in 2009 which was only 28,162 kg, it means that in the period from January to May 2010 it experienced an increase of around 89.60 percent  The number of shipping through Sulawesi Barat during the period January - May 2010 reached 933 units, which means a decrease of about 11.48 percent when compared with the same period in 2009 as many as 1,054 units.  The number of sea transport passengers departing and coming through Sulawesi Barat during January - May 2010 reached 21,856 people. When compared to the period January - May 2009 which only around 21,078 people, it means an increase of about 3.69 percent.
