Abstract

MANPOWER STATE IN WEST SULAWESI (RESULTS OF SAKERNAS FEBRUARY 2010)  In February 2010 the number of the workforce reached 546,168 people, experiencing a significant increase of 30,341 people (5.88 percent) compared to the same period the previous year (February 2009 conditions). When compared to the situation in February 2008, an increase of 68,332 people. In other words, during the February 2008-2010 period there was an average growth of the workforce population of 6.91 percent.  The number of working people in February 2010 increased by 33,326 people compared to the same period the previous year (the situation in February 2009), in total during February 2008-2010 the average growth of the working population was 7.80 percent.  During the period February 2008-2010 the number of unemployed people decreased by around 4,741 people or decreased by an average of 9.15 percent every year. During this period, the number of unemployed people in women fluctuated and tended to be constant, while the number of unemployed people in men had a declining trend, this was related to skills and knowledge, as well as good employment opportunities for men. men and women are getting better.  The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in West Sulawesi Province in February 2010 reached 4.10 percent, a decrease compared to the situation in February 2009 which was 4.92 percent, as well as the situation in February 2008 which was 5.68 percent.  The employment situation in February 2010, almost all jobs experienced an increase in the number of workers when compared to the situation in February 2009. Employment which experienced the highest increase in the number of workers in a row namely: agricultural employment rose by around 26,928 people followed by industrial employment and trade respectively with an increase of about 14,203 people and 6,930 people.
