Abstract

LEVEL OF HOTEL ROOM (TPK) PROVINCE OF SULAWESI BARAT, TRIWULAN II 2008; Room Occupancy Rate (Star Occupancy Rate) Starred Hotels in the second quarter of 2008, the highest occurred in June amounted to 34.60 percent, while the lowest amounted to 21.48 percent in May. The average TPK of Starred Hotels during the second quarter of 2008 was around 29.33 percent, this means that the average of all rooms used every night at the Starred Hotel in the second quarter of 2008 was 29.33 percent. ; Room Occupancy Rate for Other Accommodations is still greater than Starred Hotels including in the second quarter of 2008. This condition reflects that users of accommodation services tend to choose to stay at Other Accommodations, perhaps because the rates are relatively cheaper than Starred Hotels. The average TPK for the Other Accommodation classification is 34.89 percent or 5.56 points higher than the average TPK for starred hotels. ; The average length of stay of foreign guests in the Classified Hotel classification in the second quarter of 2008 was 1.81 days or 0.26 points greater than the average length of stay of Archipelago guests by 1.55 days. Furthermore, in the Other Accommodation classification the average length of stay of foreign guests was 1.00 days or 0.41 points lower than that of Nusantara guests with an average length of stay of 1.41 days. ; Guest Per Room (GPR) or the average number of Guests per Room for Starred Hotels is 1.87, 0.16 points higher than for Other Accommodation GPR with a GPR of 1.71. This means that the average rooms sold in the Classified Hotel classification is inhabited by 1.87 people, while in the Other Accommodation classification the average rooms sold is occupied by 1.71 people.
