Abstract

MANPOWER STATE IN SULAWESI BARAT (RESULTS OF SAKERNAS FEBRUARY 2008); The total workforce in February 2008 reached 477,836 people, an increase of around 7,339 people compared to the total workforce in August 2007 of 470,497 people. ; The total population employed in February 2008 was 450,687 people, an increase of around 5,824 people compared to the situation in August 2007.; Based on the results of Sakernas in February 2008, the Participation Rate of Work Force (TPAK) in Sulawesi Barat was 65.29% or an increase of about 0.07% when compared to the conditions in August 2007.; On the other hand the Open Unemployment Rate in West Sulawesi in February 2008 reached around 5.68%, this figure rose by around 0.23% when compared to conditions in August 2007.; In Sulawesi Barat, the status of working is still dominated by informal workers, which amounted to 77.3% in February 2008, while the remaining 23.7% were formal workers.
