[Mamuju, 11 June 2024] – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of West Sulawesi Province (Sulbar) enthusiastically welcomed the visit of a team of experts from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). This visit is part of a joint effort to strengthen synergy in formulating policies and studying good practices that have been implemented in controlling inflation in the West Sulawesi region.
This productive discussion brought together experts from BRIN and BPS West Sulawesi to exchange ideas and formulate appropriate strategies to maintain price stability and people's purchasing power.
"We welcome the collaboration with BRIN in efforts to control inflation in West Sulawesi," said Tina Wahyufitri, Head of BPS West Sulawesi.
"Through this discussion, we hope to learn from each other and share experiences in formulating effective solutions to combat inflation." he added.
One of the main focuses of the discussion was studying the good practices that have been carried out by the West Sulawesi BPS in helping the West Sulawesi Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) control inflation. TPID West Sulawesi has succeeded in reducing inflation rates in its region through various strategies, such as strengthening statistical systems, increasing coordination with stakeholders, and educating the public.
"BPS West Sulawesi has a lot of valuable experience and knowledge in controlling inflation," said Muhammad Zulhamdani, Coordinator of the BRIN Regional Policy and Innovation Research Team.
"We want to study these good practices and make research so that they can be applied in other regions in Indonesia," concluded Zulham.
It is hoped that this discussion will produce concrete policy recommendations and effective strategies to combat inflation in West Sulawesi and throughout Indonesia.
