Mamuju, 3 June 2024 – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of West Sulawesi Province (Sulbar) recorded a significant increase in air transportation in West Sulawesi in April 2024.
"The number of planes arriving and departing in West Sulawesi in April 2024 reached 39 planes, an increase of 105.26 percent compared to March 2024," said Head of BPS West Sulawesi, Tina Wahyufitri, in a press release held today.
This increase is in line with the increase in the number of airplane passengers in West Sulawesi.
"The number of airplane passengers departing in April 2024 reached 1,952 people, an increase of 9.48 percent compared to March 2024," explained Tina.
Meanwhile, the number of ships arriving and departing in West Sulawesi in April 2024 decreased by 22.71 percent compared to March 2024.
"The decrease in the number of ships is likely influenced by several factors, such as weather conditions and seasonal changes," said Tina.
However, the number of ship passengers departing in April 2024 increased by 34.73 percent compared to March 2024.
