Agricultural Sector is the backbone of West Sulawesi's GRDP

The West Sulawesi Provincial Economic Coordination Meeting 2020 held by the West Sulawesi Provincial Bappeda took place conducively. This activity was attended by several resource persons, including the Executive Director of the Indonesian Industrial Estate Association, the Governor of West Sulawesi Expert, the Head of Bank Indonesia Representative Office for West Sulawesi Province, and the Head of BPS for West Sulawesi Province. The Coordination Meeting was opened and moderated directly by the Head of the West Sulawesi Provincial Bappeda Khaeruddin Anas. (2/12)

On this occasion, the head of West Sulawesi Province BPS, Agus Gede Hendrayana Hermawan, explained how to map agricultural potential data to realize food sovereignty in West Sulawesi Province. In his presentation, Agus Gede said that the agricultural sector is still the backbone of West Sulawesi's GRDP. This is evidenced by the data for the last five years, namely the agricultural sector has always grown positively in the range of 4 - 6%. "Rice, palm oil, and fisheries products are the top three leading commodities based on the Composite Commodity Index value," said Agus Gede.
