The Potential of Sulawesi Barat Province Agriculture: Optimizing Sustainable Agricultural Potential

Agriculture plays a vital role in the economic development and food security of West Sulawesi. More than half of the population of West Sulawesi depends on the agricultural sector for their livelihood. The changes and challenges faced by this sector will have a significant impact on national welfare. This publication entitled West Sulawesi Agricultural Potential: Optimizing Sustainable Agricultural Potential is presented amidst efforts to build a more resilient, adaptive, and sustainable agricultural system, with the hope that it will bring progress to the nation.
This book delves deeper into the opportunities and challenges faced by agricultural sub-sectors such as food crops, horticulture, plantations, livestock, fisheries, and forestry using data from the 2023 Agricultural Census and other relevant sources. Through a comprehensive analysis, we try to map untapped potential, formulate solutions to existing problems, and provide references in formulating more targeted policies.
