Percentage of Poor Population in Sulawesi Barat Province in September 2024 dropped to 10.71 percent

Abstract

In September 2024, the percentage of poor people (people with per capita expenditure per month below the Poverty Line) in Sulawesi Barat Province was 10.71 percent or decreased by 0.50 percentage points compared to March 2024.
In absolute terms, the number of poor people in Sulawesi Barat Province in September 2024 was 155.91 thousand people, a decrease of 6.28 thousand people compared to March 2024.
The percentage of poor people in urban areas in March 2024 was 9.29 percent, down to 8.33 percent in September 2024. Meanwhile, the percentage of poor people in rural areas also decreased from 11.70 percent, down 0.38 percentage points to 11.32 percent in September 2024.
The role of food commodities in the Poverty Line is greater than the role of non-food commodities (housing, clothing, education, and health). Food Poverty Line Contribution to Poverty Line in September 2024 Food Poverty Line Contribution to Poverty Line in September 2024 was recorded at 77.55 percent. This condition is relatively unchanged when compared to March 2024.
