Abstract

  • The Sulawesi Barat Gender Gap Index (IKG) in 2023 was 0.494, down 0.016 points compared to 2022 which was 0.510.

  • The decline in the Gender Inequality Index (IKG) in Sulawesi Barat was influenced by improvements in the dimensions of reproductive health and empowerment.

  • Improvements in the empowerment dimension were influenced by improvements in the minimum high school education indicator for women, which increased higher than for men. The percentage of women increased by 1.62 points or from 32.75 percent in 2022 to 34.37 percent in 2023, while the percentage of men only increased by 1.33 points or increased from 38.03 percent in 2022 to 39.36 percent in 2023.
