Abstract
NTP is an IT comparison of IB that is used to show the exchange power of agricultural products with goods and services consumed and for production costs. The higher the NTP, the relatively stronger the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers.
Starting in January 2020 a change of basic year was carried out in the calculation of the price index received by farmers (IT) and the price index paid by farmers (IB) from the 2012 Basic Year = 100 to the Basic Year 2018 = 100. Both types of indexes are components in the calculation of farmers' exchange rates (NTP). This basic year change is carried out to adjust changes in production patterns, production costs, and household consumption in rural areas.
In the base year 2018 = 100 there was an increase in the scope of the number of commodities both in the IT and IB commodity packages compared to the 2012 Basic Year = 100. Sulawesi Barat NTP August 2023 amounted to 121.52 or up 2.47 percent compared to NTP July 2023 which amounted to 118.59. The increase in NTP was caused by IT which increased by 2.40 percent, while IB had decreased by 0.07 percent.
NTP according to the sub-sector is recorded for the Food Crops Subsector (NTP-P) 98.75; Horticultural Subsector (NTP-H) 104.07; Community Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP-R) 143,76; Animal Husbandry Subsector (NTP-T) 92.52; and Fisheries Subsector (NTN-P) 105.66.
