Abstract

The percentage of poor people increased by 0.04 percentage point from 12.23 percent in September 2013 to 12.27 percent in March 2014.

The poor population of West Sulawesi in March 2014 was 153.9 thousand people or an increase of 2.2 thousand people compared to the poor population in September 2013, which amounted to 151.7 thousand people.

During one semester (September 2013 - March 2014), the number and percentage of poor people in urban areas increased by 2.1 thousand people (0.59 percentage points). However, in rural areas the number of poor people has increased by around 100 people, but has relatively decreased by 0.12 percentage points.
