2013 Agriculture Census Results (Fixed Figures)

Abstract

The number of agriculture business households in 2013 was 185,847 households, food crops subsector 96,514 households, horticulture 74,765 households, plantation 145,205 households, livestock 90,413 households, fisheries 19,512 households, and forestry 23,638 households.

The number of smallholder households in West Sulawesi Province in 2013 was 50,696 households or 28.19 percent of agricultural land-use households, an increase of 7,136 households or an increase of 16.36 percent compared to 2003 data.

The number of households working in the agricultural sector was 185,847 households, the most in the plantation subsector was 145,205 households and the smallest in the fisheries sub-sector was 7,358 households.

The main farmers in West Sulawesi, amounting to 31.78 percent are in the age group of 35-44 years.

The average area of ​​land controlled per household business area of ​​14,309.42 m2 was an increase of 35.80 percent compared to 2003 which was only 10,537.41 m2.

The number of cows and buffaloes on 1 May 2013 was 89,569, consisting of 82,058 beef cattle, 44 dairy cows and 7,467 buffaloes.
