Abstract
Based on the results of the Consumer Price Survey 66 cities in Indonesia in March 2012, there are 34 cities experienced inflation and 32 other cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was at 1.33 percent with CPI Ambon lowest 137,57dan in Malang 0.01 percent with CPI of 130.50, while the highest deflation occurred in Jayapura 1.44 percent with CPI of 126.38 and the lowest at 0.03 percent Pekanbaru with the CPI at 130.20. With deflation of 0.14 percent and a CPI of 134.57 Mamuju ranks 25th among cities experiencing deflation.
Mamuju inflation rate in 2012 (December 2011 - March 2012) amounted to 0.54 percent, while the inflation rate "year on year" (March 2011 - March 2012) amounted to 3.81 percent.
Meanwhile, Indonesia on March 2012 inflation of 0.07 percent, with the CPI at 131.05. Indonesia's inflation rate in 2012 (December 2011 - March 2012) amounted to 0.88 percent, while the inflation rate "year on year" (March 2011 - March 2012) amounted to 3.97 percent.
Deflation in Mamuju in March 2012, mainly due to the decline in consumer price index in three groups of expenditure, namely: foodstuffs -0.72 percent, education, recreation and sports -0.06 percent and the transport, communications and financial services - 0.02 percent, while the food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco, housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel, clothing and health groups have increased prices, respectively 0.23 percent, 0.08 percent, 0.07 percent and 0.12 percent.
A significant reduction in the foodstuffs, mainly due to the sub-group contributed to deflation in vegetables, fruits sub-groups and sub-groups of grains, tubers and results, respectively -0.09 percent, -0, 07 percent and -0.06 percent. Meanwhile, a significant increase in processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco, mainly due to the large share of inflation in the sub-group of food by 0.39 percent.
The dominant commodity inflation contributed are: tuna 0.15 percent, 0.04 percent spinach, bed martabak 0.02 percent and 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the dominant commodities contributed deflation are: rice and tomato fruit respectively -0.07 percent, -0.06 percent eggs, long beans -0.04 percent, -0.03 percent of chicken meat, fish, kale, garlic, fish float young jackfruit and -0.02 percent respectively.
